On May 1, 2018, Mayor Kelli Linville, recognized the efforts and contribution Sean Humphrey House has made to our city. Sean Humphrey, is memorialized in the care and compassion the house provides to each resident. Linville noted the hard work, dedication, and community support providing individuals living with HIV/AIDS a home.

WHEREAS, Sean Humphrey House was established in 1996, and has been in continuous existence since that date; and
WHEREAS, Sean Humphrey House is one of two remaining Adult Family Homes in Washington for people living with HIV/AIDS; and
WHEREAS, Sean Humphrey House embodies the values and objectives of our City and provides safe, comfortable and affordable housing for those living with HIV/AIDS, and is a conduit for counseling, case management, primary and specialized medical care, behavioral health services and an advocate for state and national heath initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Sean Humphrey House has made important advances in the fight against HIV and AIDS, by investing in community solutions and leveraging local resources; and
WHEREAS, it is important to remind people that HIV has not gone away and more needs to be done, and;
WHEREAS, Sean Humphrey House demonstrates leadership, commitment and dedication to our City by making an intensive commitment to service; and
WHEREAS, the City of Bellingham and its residents are thankful to Sean Humphrey House for its leadership in the strategic response to HIV/AIDS in our community.
NOW, THEREFORE, DO I, Kelli Linville, Mayor of the City of Bellingham, hereby proclaim August 18, 2018 to be
SEAN HUMPHREY DAY
in the City of Bellingham and celebrate 22 years of extraordinary service and generosity by Sean Humphrey House board members, staff, volunteers and interns. I urge all citizens to join me in recognizing Sean Humphrey House for all its contributions
in the city of Bellingham, Washington.
